Fight the Flu – Pregnant (60 seconds)

[Sound Effects] Baby music throughout.

[Mom] As an expectant mom, I’ve got a lot to do to prepare for the arrival of my baby. And on the top of my to-do list is getting the H1N1 flu vaccine.

You see, if you’re an expectant mom like I am, the threat of this year’s flu season is very real and we’re especially at risk for serious flu-related complications, which can lead to hospitalization – and even death.

That’s why the CDC and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists

recommend that pregnant women get both the H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccines.

Vaccination is safe and is the most effective way to protect ourselves…and our babies. To learn more, log on to flu.gov.

Just think – if we all do our part and get vaccinated, we’ll be doing what’s best for ourselves and what’s best to help prevent the spread of the flu.  For more helpful information and to get the facts on how you can prevent the flu, go to flu.gov.

Together, we can all fight the flu.

[Announcer] A public service announcement brought to you by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, and the Ad Council.
